The encaustic medium is magical, vibrant and translucent.  My creative muse guides, inspires and feeds my soul through this medium, mixed media and collage.  Blessing me with endless moments of creative joy and harmony...providing those ahhaa moments about life.  Join me on this creative journey, spend some time reading my musings about this life, the blessed other souls that come into contact with mine, however brief or often, that can leave everlasting imprints on our journey....perhaps our lives might share some similarities, bringing us closer and more connected...and less isolated.

"I suppose there is one friend in the life of each of us who seems not a separate person, however dear and beloved, but an expansion, an interpretation, of one's self, the very meaning of one's soul." ~ Edith Wharton

Here's to finding those expansive moments.....

CWEN Twenty Ten Exhibit - Features 20 Women Artists from Diverse Backgrounds at the Barber Gallery

CWEN TWENTY TEN - Opens at the Barber Gallery Sat. Feb. 13th 2 - 4 p.m. Exhibit runs until March 9th, 2010. Featuring twenty wonderful women artists.

Twenty women artists, celebrate Valentine's Day, Family Day, and International Women's Day.
Valentines, a celebration of love spanning centuries and cultures has it's roots in "valens" translated as worthy. Finns celebrate Ystavanpaiva, or "all friends day," where alongside romance, all friends are honoured. Welcome friends!
Here's what the show is all about:

Inspired by the olde Anglo Saxon word “Cwen,” a synonym for woman as queen, the Barber Gallery is pleased to host“Cwen Twenty Ten” a celebration of the prolific attributes and relationships in the lives of ancestral and contemporary women.
Old Irish, Scots, Welsh, Germanic, Russian, Norse, Norman, and Slavic definitions with roots in the middle and far east, site abundant text, mythologies and stories concerning the nature of, and what it means to be… women.
Mother, daughter, sister, lover. Friend, warrior, worker, teacher… Cwen combines qualities, some sacred, some not so much, in an attempt to interpret the feminine mystique.
The Barber Gallery is pleased to host twenty insightful women artists who portray the story of women through youth and age, love and loss, work and play, old stories and new, both naughty and nice, in honour of all things feminine.
Guelph Wellington Women in Crisis will have an information booth in the gallery.
Embracing Valentine’s Day, Family Day, and International Day of Women, Cwen Twenty Ten” runs from SaturdayFebruary 13th, to March 9th with an opening reception Saturday February 13 from 2-4 P.M.
