This is the work of
Staci Barron, who calls herself an "orphan of Canada" having lived on both coasts and in between. After moving locations 22 times, she is pleased that her 23rd move to the Elora has found her established with both studio and retail shop. Staci works in stoneware clay encompassing glazes that are both warm, comfortable and colourful; very different lines to satisfy aesthetics of her clientele.
This piece from Dorothy Collin's body of work can be seen in her lovely country setting studio. Dorothy is a self directed potter, and has been influenced by many workshops and courses taken over the years. Her focus is on functional pottery; garden pieces, bird baths, toad houses and planters. These are a combination of wheel and hand built pieces to give interest and are her inspiration.
Grayce Perry is an Elora artist, she sculpts in clay at the Studio Elora and paints at her home studio. She is a self taught artist who has pursued her artist development with a passion over the last few years. She brings to her work a rich background of world travel and a childhood spent in India. Her sculptures and acrylic paintings explore form, texture and colour to express the complexity of feelings that are the human experience. Most recently Grayce has received the sculpture award at the Insight Juried Art Show in 2007.
This whimsical sculpture is a piece created by Shirley Al. Her pieces are both whimsical and sophisticated. Shirley enjoys creating sculptures as it allows her free expression, creating from her own imagination without any limits. Her wistful, poet-like heads with colourful hats and turbans, horses blessed by the fire-god, and the uncertainties and mysteries of sculpture have opened new paths of creativity for her.
